TCAS I: Special Issue on CAS for the IoT - From Sensing to Sensemaking
This year, the SOCC theme is aligned with the theme of the up-coming "IEEE Transactions on Circuits and systems I" (TCAS-I) journal special issue on "Circuits And Systems For The Internet Of Things – From Sensing To Sensemaking". The TCAS-I special issue is guest co-edited by the SOCC Technical Program co-Chair Prof. Massimo Alioto.
SOCC authors are kindly invited to submit their relevant work to the special issue, provided that adequate novelty is assured compared to the SOCC submission, and according to the TCAS-I standards.
The submission instructions for the special issue are given in the Call for Papers
Chair's Message
For almost 30 years, the IEEE International System-on-Chip Conference (SOCC) has been the premier forum for sharing advances in system-on-chip (SoC) technologies, designs, tools, test and verification. The SOC conference rotates amongst international locations, and attracts researchers and engineers from all over the world to exchange knowledge, share experiences and establish collaborations with colleagues.
This year the SOCC returns to the USA, where the conference is being held in the picturesque city of Seattle. We gratefully thank our local organization team led Mani Soma, of the University of Washington, by for their thorough support. The Seattle area is a technology powerhouse of the USA, with companies such as Boeing, Amazon and Intel calling the area home.
Once again we have put together a high-class program and we thank our authors, reviewers, and volunteers for their hard work. The high quality and originality of SOCC papers has been maintained through rigorous double-blind peer review and plagiarism certification. All the broad areas of interest of SOCC are covered in the conference, including 6 tracks in Circuits and Systems, Low Power Design, MPSOC Architecture, Design Methodologies, Application Specific Design, and Emerging and Revolutionary Design. The conference includes visionary keynote and plenary speeches by distinguished speakers from industry, academia and government, providing you with insight and direction in cutting-edge SOC development. SOCC also offers a panel discussion and tutorials on the latest topics within the SOC arena, and will also feature special sessions on hot topics in the SoC arena.
Two SoC Industrial forums focus on practical SoC design and design methods and SoC security verification. These are particularly suited for SoC designers, developers, and engineers working in industry or on industrial projects. This track is intended to complement SOCC's research oriented program with industrial development experiences and case studies.
SOCC recognizes the ingenuity and importance of ground-breaking work, and thus we have the Best Paper Award which is presented to authors whose work represents groundbreaking research in SOCC. In addition, an SOCC special issue with the Elsevier Microelectronics Journal will feature top works from SOCC.
Maintaining a long tradition, SOCC2016 provides a high quality social events program for attendees and guests.
The SOCC2016 organizing committee is highly committed to provide you with a memorable and fruitful conference.
We are looking forward to welcome you to Seattle and SOCC2016.
